Roads to Recovery Program

Ararat Rural City Council has endorsed a new infrastructure program that aims to deliver upgrade works to several roads and bridges across the municipality.

Supported by the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery Program, this initiative will invest more than $12 million dollars over a five-year period to improve accessibility and road safety through the construction and maintenance of several local roads and bridges.

The following infrastructure projects are set to receive upgrade works under the program:

  • Stevens Crescent, Ararat
  • Viewpoint Street, Ararat (between Banksia St to Temple St, and High St to Lambert St).
  • Dawson Street, Ararat (between George Road to Banfield St)
  • Laby Street, Ararat (between Barkly St to Clay St)
  • Rundell Street, Ararat (between Princes St to Maude St)
  • Mt William Road Bridge (across Fiery Creek)
  • Burnetts Road Bus Route
  • Woorndoo Streatham Road (at the Moyne Shire boundary)
  • Buangor Ben Nevis Road (additional segments of the current project)
  • McCrows Road Bridge
  • Barton Bridge
  • Moyston Willaura Road Bridge
  • Bellellen Road Floodway
