Council is exploring the possibility of building a new outdoor dog park to enhance community spaces and promote a healthy, active lifestyle. The park will provide a dedicated, fenced area where dogs can exercise and socialise safely. It aims to offer numerous benefits, including increased social interaction among residents, improved mental and physical health for dog owners, and a safer environment for dogs to play.

The design of the dog park will depend on the final project scope, specific design (in alignment with standard park design guidelines), and available budget. We want to accommodate features which will support healthy and safe activity, including secure fencing, weather shade areas and waste disposal stations. Where possible, the final design will reflect the priorities expressed by the community through engagement like this survey.

The dog park is expected to have a positive impact by providing a safe and enjoyable space for dogs and their owners.
