The Ararat Rural City Council has completed the childcare demand and feasibility study in Lake Bolac and the surrounding areas. This initiative aimed to:
- Gather information on the likely demand for childcare places, including days and times that care is likely to be needed
- Gauge how much families are able to pay for childcare services, taking into account childcare subsidies.
This initiative also looked at Outside of School Hours Care services (OSHC), occasional care and school holiday care programs.
The Lake Bolac & Surrounds Childcare Demand & Feasibility Study Final Report was presented to Ararat Rural City Councillors at the Council Meeting on Tuesday 30 April 2024. The Final Report was used to liaise with private and not-for-profit sectors to deliver the new childcare centre in Lake Bolac.
Council is continuing to work with private and not-for-profit sectors to deliver the much-needed new childcare centre in Lake Bolac. Further project updates will be provided as we achieve key milestones on this initiative.
