Ararat Rural City Council is working on a project in collaboration with the community that will improve road safety in Ararat.

Council has engaged Geelong based civil engineering company DWB Engineering Pty Ltd to develop a comprehensive 'Community Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan.'

Earlier this year DWB Engineering conducted a survey asking local residents what was important to them when it came to road safety in Ararat.

On Tuesday 16 December from 9.30am-12.30pm they'll be conducting an in-person session to talk further with residents about specific locations they believe require road safety improvements and to discuss potential solutions. This session will be held at the Alexandra Oval Community Centre.

The results from the survey and the in-person consultation will form part of a recommended strategy and action plan that DWB Engineering will present to Council in the year new for consideration.

This project is supported by a $49,540 grant from the Transport Accident Commission’s (TAC) Local Government Grant Program.
